PicoWay
How Does PicoWay Work?
The newest picosecond laser technology, PicoWay® Syneron Candela (532, 785 & 1064 mm) is an FDA-approved leading, innovative pulsed laser therapy for the effective treatment of skin discoloration, acne scars, pigment spots, wrinkles, age or sun spots that inevitably some time will appear on our skin. It is also believed to be the safest, fastest and quickest method to fade out or completely remove tattoos. It transforms the skin and this is due to both its photo-acoustic function and the picosecond method, which distinguishes it from all the other pulsed lasers.
Furthermore, it is a safe, effective treatment that requires only a few sessions, so it is more comfortable for the patient. It can be applied to all skin types. Due to its non-fractional modality, it can treat a wide range of discolorations and is highly effective in any tattoo type and color, even in recalcitrant tattoos!
PicoWay is completely safe because it generates less heat compared to traditional lasers, leaving the skin intact. Thus, it minimizes the risk of side effects and offers an effective treatment with little to no recovery time. PicoWay can achieve greater results in fewer treatments than any laser technology on the market, with more comfort and ease.
The number of sessions required for a visible improvement in your skin varies depending on your expectations and your skin condition. The end results depend on the site of the lesion, its depth, size, and the characteristics of the pigmentation. You may need to have several treatments for some type of lesions, while others can be eliminated in a single session. In general, for optimal results, a series of three treatments is recommended, performed a month apart. Your consultant and registered nurse will take into consideration your history and skin condition and will recommend the number of sessions that best meet your needs.

About the Procedure
Picoway therapy is performed with a high-power picosecond laser that produces the shortest pulses available. These ultra-short pulses result in a photo-acoustic effect that does not heat the skin rather than a photo-thermal treatment that generates heating and can have as a consequence adverse events, like longer recovery time and scarring. Patients can resume immediately their everyday activities and even can apply makeup on the treated area within the first 24 hours of treatment.
With short repetitive pulses, picoway laser reaches the area of the skin that needs to be treated. Then, the pulses target and break down that area into such small particles that the body eliminates them through the natural process. What is important is that it leaves the surface of the skin intact, while being so effective in the targeted area.
